July 15, 2015

Cathy Proctor at the Denver Business Journal has a story about Pena Station.

From the article:

A commuter-rail train station at 61st Avenue and Peña Boulevard near Denver International Airport is a go, with a financing arrangement in place to pay for the project, DIA and the Regional Transportation District announced today.

Denver airport and city officials chose that location, and a development proposal by L.C. Fulenwider Inc., three years ago .

Looking north along the FasTracks East rail line at about East 61st Avenue and Pena Boulevard.

DIA had two proposals for a rail station along Peña Boulevard: the Fulenwider vision and a second option called High Point that was proposed by LNR Property LLC near 72nd Avenue and Dunkirk Street.

Thursday, DIA and RTD officials — after issuing a press release saying that work on the station had started — told the DBJ that the new development was that “an overall finance plan to fund all of the initial infrastructure” has been reached. Details of the agreement were not available.
